Okay okay, I said I could resist the temptation to listen to the entire album before its release on September 14th. But I caved when I logged into www.muse.mu and found that you can stream the full album on there. and thats exactly what I did...
...However you need to be a member of the website
Uprising.
This is the latest single from the album and reminds me of Doctor Who theme, no surprizes there though as Muse had actually mentioned Doctor Who as an influence. The song is very typical in the sense of Muse, and in true Muse style has an amazing solo, albeit not quite as epic as some of their previous songs such as knights of cydonia and hysteria.
United States of Eurasia (+Collatoral Damage)
Well, Matt Bellamys voice is beyond sexy in this song, especially at the start, at the chorus it goes a little like a Queen song, again Queen were stated as an influence for this album, The song's name implies that George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" may have inspired most definiatly this song, but potentially the whole album, as the albums song titles appear to follow the storyline of the book. and considering Matt Bellamy has a bit of an intrest in conspiracy theories.
Guiding Light.
This song is definatly my favourite on the album, amongs Undisclosed Desires and Uprising. its a love song quite simply, but like many of Muse's previous love songs such as "Endlessly" and "Blackout" it sort of talks of a relationship going wrong and how a person does not want to hurt someone, but misses not being with them at the same time. Matts voice is at its sexiest here, and This song is definatly up there with my favourite Muse song.
I'm not going to discuss the other songs, because I'm not going to ruin the album for other people. but take my advice its worth buying.
Peace Out
